A dominant danish performance in the 88 kg category

The second group on Sunday featured the men’s junior 88 kg class.

Denmark claimed a clear victory as William Hichmann Madsen outlifted the field from start to finish. His 125 kg snatch set the tone, and with an additional 151 kg in the clean & jerk, he secured the gold medal with a commanding total of 276 kg.

The battle behind him was far tighter. Iceland’s Rökkvi Hrafn Guðnason produced a strong 148 kg clean & jerk to lock in the silver at 263 kg. Finland’s Miro Manderbacka was trailing after the snatch but lifted 147 kg in the clean & jerk, overtaking Sweden’s Romeo Vergara by a single kilo and claiming the bronze with 260 kg to Vergara’s 259.
